D. Ram Palpali
Born in 1969 A.D. in Palpa, he is a self-taught artist with three solo painting exhibitions to his credit, held in Nepal and aboard. He has also participated in numerous group art exhibitions and art workshops in Nepal and USA, including National Exhibition of Art and Craft organized by Nepal Academy of Fine Art. He has won several awards including such as Ranglal Bangdel Smriti Exhibition Rastriya Kala Kaushal Exhibition Award, Camlin Art Foundation Calcutta Professional Award, National Film Festival Award, Nepal Art Council Award etc.
The artist is amongst the very skilled young water colorists in Nepal. He usually depicts landscapes with popular heritage sites or temples to which the local viewers instantly connect and a set of alien eyes also get spellbound. The tonal values, transparent quality and freshness he is able to maintain in water color are par excellent. His works transport the onlooker to the ambience he is painting, i.e. sometimes in the rural expansion of Nepal and at times to the temples and scenic landscapes of the valleys of Nepal.
