Dr. Seema Sharma Shah
Born in Varanasi, India in 1966 A.D., she did her B.F.A. in Painting from Banaras Hindu University India and went on to do her M.F.A. in Printmaking from the same University. She has a Ph.D. in Printmaking from Banaras Hindu University Varanasi India. She is the former Chief of Central Department of Fine Arts T.U. and a Lecturer of Fine Arts at T.U. 11 Solo Shows to her credit in and out of the country; she has also participated in numerous group shows and art workshops. She is the recipient of various scholarships, fellowships and awards such as Merit Scholarship Faculty of Visual Arts B.H.U., Varanasi, India, Fellowship of Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi, India, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Award New Delhi India, Best Exhibit Award, All India Exhibition of Arts Amritsar, India etc. She is the Member of Subject Committee in Painting T.U., Member of Subject Committee, Fine Art, Kathmandu University, Member of Teachers Association T.U. and Member of Artists’ Society Nepal.
She incorporates cultural motifs and religious icons in her prints and paintings. Her works are creative amalgamation between cultural continuity and modern atmosphere. She is a highly sought after artist as she is very acclaimed printmaker in Nepal. Furthermore, she is spreading the cultural diversities of Nepal in global art scene through her works.
