Sagar Manandhar

Born in Kathmandu in 1985 A.D., he completed his B.F.A in Painting with Gold medal from Banaras Hindu University Varanasi India and completed M.F.A. with Gold Medal from faculty of Visual Arts Banaras Hindu University Varanasi India. He has done eleven solo shows and numerous group shows in and out of the country. He has participated in over twenty art workshops and is currently a lecturer at Kathmandu University School of Arts- Centre for Art and Design. His selected awards include prize in designing the flag of Kathmandu Metropolitan City 2002 A.D., first prize in painting in National Exhibition of Art and Craft org. by NAFA 2011 A.D.

He depicts nature and its various aspects in his works. Some time back his theme used to be eclipse where he simplified visual reality of eclipse and its impact on earth in geometrical forms with patches of colors. The technique he uses is abstract; however, the content is realistic. Presently, he is depicting arrangements of fertile green lands that are usually seen in the outskirts of Kathmandu valley.
